During Tuesday night’s BOD monthly meeting, the Board stated they would post the email sent to the BOD by Mr. Peterson, specifying his plans moving forward with the installation of his water tank. The following is that email:

” Greetings to the Board,
I would assume that at least as of this writing Tuesday morning, May 16th, the legal sirens have increased another 40dB. I’m sorry about that. Here’s what’s happened/happening:

1) As requested, the 5000-gallon water tank has been removed from the street and now resides solely on my property.

2) The “Underground Services” utility marking team has visited my property and has clearly marked the underground power and telecom cables near the current slab site.

3) A backhoe contractor has been hired to dig 2 deep trenches on the street-facing sides directly adjacent to the slab for the purpose of planting trees.  This contractor was scheduled for yesterday 5/15, but has had to reschedule for 5/18.

4) A quantity of 10 arborvitae (evergreen) trees have been selected and will be transported to the site on Thursday 5/18.  Each tree is 14-feet tall, and is already significantly taller than the tank.  The arborist I hired tells me that these trees can be expected to achieve 18 feet within two years.

5) There are already 20-foot trees present between the slab and the complainant’s property across the street.  These arborvitae trees will remain shorter, as I had previously promised to the complainant to trim the arborvitae trees to never exceed the height of the current 20-foot trees present.  With the existing 20-foot trees already in place, the added arborvitae trees will present no further view impact to the complainant.

6) We will move the water tank on to the existing slab as soon as the 10 arborvitae trees are in place.

7) The Fire Chief of District 9 ECFD has already approved the compatibility of the tank’s valve configuration, and is prepared to deliver 2500 gallons of water via one of the fire tankers in his fleet. The remaining balance will be slowly filled over time with a garden hose.

By the evening of Thursday, May 18th I reasonably anticipate that the view of my private yard will no longer be able to offend any neighbor, with the net result being critical fire water now being made available for emergency use through SAHA.

regards,
Bob Peterson “
